PLAYBETUSA’S NFL WEEK #5 PREDICTIONS, PICKS AND ODDS 2021

Philadelphia Eagles at Carolina Panthers

October 10th – 1:00 pm ET – Bank of America Stadium

The Carolina Panthers could have not have asked for a better start to the season than going 3-0 before losing to the Dallas Cowboys last week. The Panthers are looking to get back to winning ways against a struggling Eagles side and should have no issues doing so.

Philadelphia are an improved team from last year, but as we’ve seen so far they still have plenty of weaknesses that can and will be exploited by the league’s top teams. They have had a tough schedule early on playing the likes of the Kansas City Chiefs, Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers, so it will be interesting to see how they respond against the Panthers.

Carolina are favored by four points, which seems reasonable. The Eagles will likely keep the game close though and this one could be decided by a field goal in the end. While the home team should ultimately win the game, go with the visitors to cover the spread.

Denver Broncos at Pittsburgh Steelers

October 10th – 1:00 pm ET – Heinz Field

The Pittsburgh Steelers came into the campaign with the goal of winning their second consecutive AFC North Division title. However, after an impressive win away to the Buffalo Bills in week one, they have dropped three straight games since. Many were starting to speculate as to whether Ben Roethlisberger was still the right quarterback to be running the offense, but his head coach Mike Tomlin came to his defense during the week suggesting he was still the best quarterback for the job.

It will be another daunting task for Tomlin’s men though as they get set to play a Broncos team that has just one loss this season. They were embarrassed by the Baltimore Ravens at home last week and will be looking to prove that they are a better team than they displayed.

This one is a pick’em with the home side favored by just a single point. Go with the visitors to take advantage of their struggling hosts in an important victory for them.

New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys

October 10th– 4:25 pm ET – AT&T Stadium

The New York Giants shocked the world last week when they knocked off the New Orleans Saints in overtime to claim their first victory of the season. They had been in close games, but always struggled to get the job done in the end. After finally getting the monkey off their back, they will be full of confidence heading into Dallas for week five action.

The Dallas Cowboys are looking like the team many had expected to see last season. Their only loss of the season came on opening night against the defending Super Bowl champions the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Since then, they have been a force to be reckoned with and will provide the Giants with more than they can handle at AT&T Stadium.

The home team are favored by a touchdown and it’s not difficult to see why. They have been explosive on offense and expect that to be the case again on Sunday. Go with the Cowboys and the over in this entertaining affair.

Buffalo Bills at Kansas City Chiefs

October 10th– 8:20 pm ET – Arrowhead Stadium

The Buffalo Bills went all the way to the AFC Championship Game last season, before being eliminated by the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium. They will be desperate to get some vengeance as they look to prove they are the best team in the AFC. They have rebounded from their opening week loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers to win three in a row and will look to keep momentum going against the Chiefs.

Kansas City snapped a two-game losing skid last weekend against the Philadelphia Eagles. They have not looked like the same dominant force though that have gone to the Super Bowl in back-to-back seasons. However, they did add wide receiver Josh Gordon to their roster and he could make his debut against the Bills on Sunday.

Regardless though, the Bills are a better team than they were last season, but the same cannot be said of the home team. Go with the visitors to cover the spread and potentially to win the game outright.

ODDS: Kansas City (-2.5)
Over/Under: 56.5

Indianapolis Colts at Baltimore Ravens

October 11th– 8:15 pm ET – M&T Bank Stadium

The Baltimore Ravens may have lost their opening contest of the season against the Las Vegas Raiders, but they have been fighting ever since to prove they are legitimate contenders in the AFC. They have already knocked off the Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos and will be hoping to feast on the Indianapolis Colts on Monday Night Football.

Despite being just 1-3 on the campaign, the Colts aren’t a terrible team and probably better than their record reflects. That doesn’t mean they won’t struggle in Baltimore on Monday night though. While they did take down the Dolphins in Miami last weekend, don’t expect that to be the case in Baltimore.

The Ravens enter the contest favored by a touchdown and should not have a problem covering considering how good their offense has been. The home team should be a lock in this one, with the over also worth laying money on.

ODDS: Baltimore (-7)
Over/Under: 46
