PLAYBETUSA’S NFL WEEK #13 PREDICTIONS, PICKS AND ODDS 2021

Minnesota Vikings at Detroit Lions

December 5th – 1:00 pm ET – Ford Field

The Detroit Lions lost another game by a last-second field goal in week 12 on Thanksgiving and time is running out for them to pick up at least one victory this year. They enter Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings with an 0-10-1 record. However, despite their abysmal record the Lions have managed to keep most of the games they’ve played close and will be desperate to send their fans home happy at least once this season.

The Vikings were starting to pick up momentum before they fell to the San Francisco 49ers in week 12. The Vikings now sit 5-6 on the season and cannot afford any more slip ups if they have any chance of getting back to the postseason. They will be viewing their game in Detroit as a must-win and will be hoping it won’t come down to a last-minute field goal like their first victory over the Lions this season did.

The Vikings are favored by a touchdown, but even if they win expect the Lions to keep the game tight. Go with the home team to cover the spread.

Baltimore Ravens at Pittsburgh Steelers

December 5th – 4:25 pm ET – Heinz Field

The Pittsburgh Steelers were humiliated in week 12 by the Cincinnati Bengals and will be looking to redeem themselves against AFC North leaders, the Baltimore Ravens. With the Ravens sitting well above the Steelers in the standings, anything but a Pittsburgh win on Sunday afternoon will likely spell the end of their pursuit of a second consecutive division title.

Baltimore have won three of their last four games and will not be intimidated by what will surely be a raucous crowd at Heinz Field. They will be fully aware of the opportunity that lays in front of them and will not want to disappoint. While these two teams will meet again in the final week of the campaign, the Ravens would love nothing more than to end the Steelers’ dreams in front of their own supporters.

The Ravens are 4.5-point favorites and rightfully so. Go with the visitors to pick up an impressive victory on the road and cover the spread in the process.

ODDS: Baltimore (-4.5)

San Francisco 49ers at Seattle Seahawks

December 5th– 4:25 pm ET – Lumen Field

The San Francisco 49ers came into the NFL season as legitimate contenders to reach the Super Bowl. While they still have an opportunity to do so and are in the playoff picture, they are not quite where they had hoped to be.

Sitting with a 6-5 record, they are currently three games back of the Arizona Cardinals for top spot in the NFC West and will need a victory over division rivals the Seattle Seahawks to keep hope alive of catching them.

The Seahawks have not been the same team this season as we have been used to seeing in years past, really struggling to find their identity. They have lost three consecutive games and despite Russel Wilson returning from injury, the Seahawks still cannot find a way to score points when they need to.

The 49ers are listed as 3.5-point favorites and should be able to cover the spread on the road in a game that they need to come up big in. Go with the visitors.

ODDS: San Francisco (-3.5)
Over/Under: 45

Denver Broncos at Kansas City Chiefs

December 5th – 8:20 pm ET – Arrowhead Stadium

No division in the entire NFL is tighter than the AFC West, which has all four teams separated by just one game. While the Kansas City Chiefs sit atop the division with a 7-4 record, the Denver Broncos sit in fourth place with a 6-5 record. Both the Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers are also 6-5, meaning neither the Chiefs or Broncos can afford to make any mistakes in week 13.

This will be the first of two meetings between these teams this season, with the second game scheduled in Denver for the final week of the campaign. Despite the two teams being close in the standings, oddsmakers have the Chiefs as massive 9.5-point favorites. Kansas City are coming off four straight wins though and have been to the Super Bowl for the last two consecutive years.

It may look like the Broncos are being disrespected by the spread, but Kansas City can embarrass teams once they get firing on all cylinders and that could be the case in prime time on Sunday night. Go with the hosts to win big as they look to send a message to the rest of the NFL.

ODDS: Kansas City (-9.5)

New England Patriots at Buffalo Bills

December 6th – 8:15 pm ET – Highmark Stadium

The Buffalo Bills were supposed to cruise to their second consecutive AFC East title this season, but Mac Jones and the New England Patriots had other plans. Winners of their last six straight games, the Patriots are flying high heading into their crucial week 13 battle against the Buffalo Bills.

The Patriots sit half a game up on the Bills for top spot in the AFC East, with a record of 8-4. A win on the road on Monday night would go a long way in helping them regain the AFC East division title. However, they will be up against a motivated Bills side that dominated the New Orleans Saints on Thanksgiving in week 12. While these two teams will meet one more time this season in week 16, the Bills know they cannot afford to slip up on home field.

The Bills enter the contest as minor 2.5-point favorites and should be able to get the job done at Highmark Stadium on Monday. The over is also worth laying money considering how low it has been set.
