KANSAS CITY CHIEFS AT TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS

FEBRUARY 7th – 6:30 pm ET – Raymond James Stadium

The Kansas City Chiefs didn’t think they’d have to worry about Tom Brady anymore when he opted to leave the New England Patriots and the AFC for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the conclusion of last season. However, despite his new surroundings Brady finds himself in familiar territory preparing for the 10th Super Bowl of his career. When he steps on the field at Raymond James Stadium on Sunday evening, he will have doubled John Elway’s old record for most appearances in a Super Bowl by a quarterback.

The Buccaneers did not have an easy ride to get to the NFL’s most prestigious game either, after finishing behind the New Orleans Saints in the NFC South with an 11-5 record. They were forced to go on the road and beat Washington, New Orleans, and the Green Bay Packers. Fortunately for them, Raymond James Stadium had been selected to host Super Bowl LV long ago and the Buccaneers will become the first team in NFL history to play the big game in their own stadium.

Brady is also the last quarterback to beat Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in the playoffs. New England took out the Chiefs in the 2018 AFC Championship game at Arrowhead Stadium before beating the Los Angeles Rams in the Super Bowl. But Kansas City are now the defending champions and will not be intimidated by their opponents.

The Chiefs had the luxury of a bye in the Wild Card round as they topped the AFC with an impressive 14-2 record during the regular season. They have easily been the league’s best team all year long and have looked unstoppable at times. They picked up impressive playoff wins against the Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills at home to get to the Super Bowl for the second straight season. Kansas City took out the San Francisco 49ers 31-20 in last year’s Super Bowl and understand what it’s going to take to get the job done against Brady and company.

This could prove to be one of the all-time great Super Bowls between one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game and the best on the planet right now.

Both Kansas City and Tampa Bay put up nearly 500 points each during the regular season and we should be in for a spectacle on Sunday night when these two teams lock horns. Expect plenty of points, with the over looking like a lock.

It’s hard to bet against someone who has six Super Bowls and four Super Bowl MVPs to his name, but the Chiefs have been the best team in the NFL for the past two seasons and will come up big again on Sunday. Mahomes has too many weapons at his disposal and the defense proved in the AFC title game against the Bills that they can be clutch too when called upon. Go with the Chiefs to cover the spread and win their second consecutive Super Bowl.
