The first half of 2021 has been hectic for online casinos, with operators continuing to ride the recent wave of positivity in the industry.

There is plenty to look forward to over the coming months, with the schedule packed with some exciting online and in-person events.

One of the leading game developers has also been busy preparing for what they anticipate will be a lucrative final few months of the year. Read on as we take a closer look.

WCOOP celebrates anniversary

The 20th edition of the World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) takes centre stage during August and September, with more than 300 events taking place.

The event starts on August 22, with players able to compete in low, medium and high options over the following 25 days.

There will be $100 million in prize money on offer with the six Main Events featuring an eye-watering $16m in guaranteed prizes.

The series features tournaments across the poker spectrum including No Limit Hold’em, Pot Limit Omaha, Turbos, HORSE and more.

With buy-ins starting at just $5.50 buy-in and bumper payouts up for grabs, the WCOOP is an event that should not be missed.

Lone Rider XtraWays

Swintt’s new Lone Rider slot is the first that features the company’s innovative XtraWays feature – a unique proprietary game mechanic.

With wilds, scatter pays and extra spins bonuses, Lone Rider XtraWays offers players up to a staggering 262,144 different ways to win.

The new feature allows players to see how big the reels are going to be on the next spin, with the number determined by the amount of XtraWays symbols that land.

Lone Rider has a default RTP rate of 96.13%, although online casino operators can choose from two other settings to suit their specific requirements.

G2E Las Vegas 2021 open for business

Around 30,000 people head to Las Vegas each year to take part in an event that brings together the top operators in the iGaming and sports betting industries.

G2E is offering reduced pricing on in-person and virtual registration this year with the aim of setting a new record for the number of attendees.

The program centres around several topics including Research, Regulations, and Responsibility, Finance & Investment and the Customer Experience.

Tribal Government & Gaming, The Future of Gaming, Global Outlook and the Business of Sports Betting are the other G2E themes for 2021.
