PLAYBETUSA’S NFL WEEK #17 PREDICTIONS, PICKS, AND ODDS

WASHINGTON FOOTBALL CLUB AT PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

January 3rd – 8:20 pm ET – Lincoln Financial Field

The NFC East is by far the worst division in the entire National Football League. Despite being just 6-9 on the season, Washington has a chance to clinch the division for the first time since 2015 on Sunday evening with a victory in Philadelphia. If Washington don’t beat the Eagles though, the winner of the New York Giants-Dallas Cowboys game will claim the NFC East.

The Eagles are the only team in the division who are officially eliminated from playoff contention but that doesn’t mean they won’t be looking to play spoiler against their rivals. They have already confirmed that rookie Jalen Hurts will start again for the team as they keep one eye on the future.

This should be an intense game, but Washington has too much on the line to not be up to the task. Considering they are just one-point favorites on Sunday night, take the visitors.

PICKS: Washington

ODDS: Washington (-1)
Over/Under: 42

PITTSBURGH STEELERS AT CLEVELAND BROWNS

January 3rd – 1:00 pm ET – FirstEnergy Stadium

The Cleveland Browns suffered a major setback in their pursuit of a playoff spot last week when they lost to the New York Jets. They could have clinched their ticket to the postseason and entered Sunday’s contest with the Pittsburgh Steelers much more at ease. However, they must now win this weekend if they want to guarantee their first trip to the playoffs since 2002.

The Steelers snapped their three-game losing streak this past Sunday with a crucial victory over the Indianapolis Colts. They can still finish in second in the AFC, but will need to win and hope the Buffalo Bills falter against the Miami Dolphins. The Steelers may take the opportunity to rest some of their starters ahead of the playoffs though against the Browns with the division already wrapped up.

The Browns are big favorites in this one, but there is a reason for that. Go with the home team to finally end their playoff drought.

ODDS: Cleveland (-7)
Over/Under: 42.5

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS AT INDIANAPOLIS COLTS

January 3rd – 4:25 pm ET – Lucas Oil Stadium

The Jacksonville Jaguars wrap up their abysmal season against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday afternoon. These two teams met in the first game of the season, where the Jaguars shocked the entire NFL and beat the Colts. It is still their only victory of the season.

The Colts need to win and need some help as well in order to reach the playoffs. A win on Sunday coupled with a loss from either the Cleveland Browns, Miami Dolphins, Baltimore Ravens or Tennessee Titans means the Colts will sneak into a Wild Card spot.

Indianapolis is favored by more than two touchdowns on Sunday, but should get the job done as they will desperate to reach the playoffs. The under may also be worth laying money on considering how high it has been set.

GREEN BAY PACKERS AT CHICAGO BEARS

January 3rd – 4:25 pm ET – Soldier Field

The Green Bay Packers have been the best team in the NFC this season and can clinch the first seed with a victory against the Bears. The first seed would provide them with a highly coveted bye in the Wild Card round of the playoffs. A Seattle Seahawks loss would also guarantee the Packers the top spot in the conference.

Chicago is looking to simply get into the playoffs on Sunday and can do so with a win over Green Bay. A loss by Arizona would also guarantee the Bears a playoff spot. Chicago has now won three consecutive games and will be confident heading into their tilt with the Packers.

The visitors are favored by 5.5 points in what should be an intense affair between two teams that do not like each other. Take the Packers to cover the spread though as they will be eager to wrap up first place.

PICKS: Green Bay

ODDS: Green Bay (-5.5)
Over/Under: 50.5

BALTIMORE RAVENS AT CINCINNATI BENGALS

January 3rd– 1:00 pm ET – Paul Brown Stadium

The Baltimore Ravens are a team that nobody will want to play in the playoffs considering how hot they have been lately. They have four straight wins and can book their place in the playoffs with a victory over the woeful Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday afternoon.

The home side has nothing to play for, sitting with a 4-10-1 record on the campaign. They are coming off two consecutive victories though against the Houston Texans and Pittsburgh Steelers.

Even with their recent success, the Bengals don’t stand much of a chance against a motivated Ravens’ side. The visitors are favored by double digits, but don’t let that hold you back. Take the Ravens to win big in Cincinnati on Sunday afternoon. The total is also set quite reasonably, with the over worth a look as well.

ODDS: Baltimore (-11.5)
