PLAYBETUSA’S NFL WEEK #15 PREDICTIONS, PICKS, AND ODDS

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES AT ARIZONA CARDINALS

December 20th – 4:05 pm ET – University of Phoenix Stadium

After four consecutive losses and the fan base calling for a change, the Philadelphia Eagles opted to bench quarterback Carson Wentz and start Jalen Hurts instead. It worked, with the Eagles pulling off a massive upset against the New Orleans Saints. They are hoping to catch lightning in a bottle twice as they have already announced the rookie will start again on Sunday in Phoenix.

The Cardinals may have a winning record, but they have been one of the most frustratingly inconsistent teams in the league. They snapped a three-game losing streak last weekend with a victory against the New York Giants and will be looking to keep the momentum going against a beatable Eagles’ side.

While Philadelphia did catch New Orleans off guard last week, don’t expect that to be the case against the Cardinals on Sunday. Arizona is fighting for their playoff lives and should have no issues covering the 6.5 points they are favored by.

ODDS: Arizona (-6.5)

PITTSBURGH STEELERS AT CINCINNATI BENGALS

December 21st– 8:15 pm ET – Paul Brown Stadium

The Pittsburgh Steelers were the league’s only undefeated team until they lost their last two games to drop to 11-2. As a result, they now sit second in the AFC behind the Kansas City Chiefs and will be hoping to get back to winning ways before the playoffs start.

The Bengals have lost their last five straight games and will not be looking forward to taking on an angry Steelers’ team. Cincinnati was humiliated at home last weekend against the Cowboys and that could be the case again on Monday evening.

The Steelers enter the game as big favorites, but considering Dallas left Paul Brown Stadium with a 30-7 victory, expect similar results from the Steelers. The total is also set quite low in anticipation the Bengals won’t be putting up much points, but go with the over in what should be a dominant performance by the visitors.

BUFFALO BILLS AT DENVER BRONCOS

December 19th– 4:30 pm ET – Sports Authority Field

The Buffalo Bills have an opportunity to win the AFC East for the first time in 25 years with a victory on Saturday against the Broncos in Denver. After a statement win against the Steelers on Monday night, the Bills are proving to be a legitimate contender in the AFC.

Denver is coming off a win on the road against the Carolina Panthers though and will not layover for Buffalo. The Broncos have been difficult team to play against this season and they enjoy playing on their home field.

Stefon Diggs has been obliterating defenses this season, demonstrating why many believe he was the biggest offseason acquisition in the league. The Vikings’ loss is Josh Allen’s gain though as the quarterback has been thriving in his third season in the league.

Saturday should be a tightly contested affair, but go with the visitors to cover the spread and clinch the division in the process.

ODDS: Buffalo (-6.5)

CHICAGO BEARS AT MINNESOTA VIKINGS

December 20th– 1:00 pm ET – U.S. Bank Stadium

The Chicago Bears had one of the hottest starts in the NFL, winning five of their first six games of the campaign. Problem is, they lost their next six straight games before knocking off the Houston Texans at Soldier Field last weekend. They remain in the playoff hunt though with a 6-7 record and will need a victory in Minnesota to have any chance of keeping hopes alive.

The Vikings find themselves in the exact same situation as Chicago does, sitting with a 6-7 record. Minnesota on the other hand, lost five of their first six games though and have rebounded well since. They are coming off a disappointing loss in Tampa Bay though and will hope to get things turned back in the right direction.

The last time these two teams met back on November 16th, the Vikings pulled off a 19-13 win against the Bears in Chicago. The Bears have snapped their losing streak though and should be a tougher side to play against this weekend.

The Vikings may still pull off the victory, but take the Bears to cover the 3.5 points as this should be a tight contest right until the final whistle.

PICKS: Chicago

ODDS: Minnesota (-3.5)
Over/Under: 46

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS AT BALTIMORE RAVENS

December 20th– 1:00 pm ET – M&T Bank Stadium

The Jacksonville Jaguars have not won a game since their upset against the Indianapolis Colts in the opening week of the season. Since then, the Jaguars have lost 12 straight games and will be in tough against one of the league’s most dynamic offenses on Sunday afternoon.

The Ravens needed a win on Monday against Cleveland to remain in the playoff hunt and they managed to pull it off. They now sit at 8-5 and just outside of the playoffs looking in. They will be a motivated side against the Jaguars looking to send a signal of intent to the rest of the league.

They will not be a team that anybody will want to come up against in the playoffs and could be a real threat if they sneak in. They are big favorites against the Jaguars but shouldn’t have any problems covering the 13 points. Take the home team to win big and improve to 9-5 on the season.
